Djay 2 free is one of the new generations of popular DJ’ing software available on the market. Djay is a simple, lite and bloatware free app that lets you perform the basics of dj’ing on your phone with ease. The app gained popularity when Steve Jobs used it to demonstrate the versatility of the iPad as something that can create things.

Djay stands out from other Djay apps and software due its simplistic approach, and no-fuss interface. The app itself is pretty simple in its interface; you simply tap the music icon to add a track from your library. The paid version offers Spotify integration with a whole bunch of other DJ’ing features. Once you choose the song, a virtual record of the song is loaded up onto the respective platter and the needle slides into position to start playing. The needle slides in response to your swipe, allowing you to scratch or slide the recorder into position as per your wish. Side bars are present next to the platters which adjust the BPM. This feature can also be manually set by simply tapping the BPM box at the top and setting the beat. The sync button offers easy setting of the track to the other track’s BPM automatically. Below the BPM slider, the controls for setting the lows, mids and highs are present which also allow you to set levels of gain and add different effects including loops and cue points. The app offers support for all major audio formats, and works with all the leading DJ MIDI controller and Audio Interface devices with ease. It also offers Bluetooth support for easy connectivity. There is an additional portrait mode that lets you view single platters for easy use. The app is available on both iOS and Android devices (iOS 7 and up, Android 2.3 and up).
